This rug pad is great and the price very good. If you need to cut it down be prepared with a heavy-duty utility shears or a good utility knife. I would suggest getting it too big and cutting down rather than trying an undersized pad. The pad is so thick that you will definitely notice where the pad ends.The surface is dense enough to keep dust from going through the pad and sanding the finish off the floor beneath it. The cushion it gives to a nice thick wool rug makes the feel of the rug extra comfortable and luxurious. The pad does not slip on a hard floor and the rug does not slip off the pad, so it is very safe and you can easily vacuum without the rug bunching up or moving.
